Shabby chic Mantel

Do you like to save pretty ribbon from packages

This past Christmas we received the most beautiful 

 white Rachel Ashwell  face towels

{Love} 

The towels were wrapped with this

pretty shabby chic white ribbon 

So happy I kept the ribbon it looks so cute  wrapped around this garden

 galvanized bucket 

Today while shopping at Trader Joes 

 I found these adorable baby pink potted roses for only 1.99 each

{such a bargain}

 I bought 3 and

 they fit perfectly in the bucket

I added a small sprig of pink jasmine

 from the garden

The baby pink  of the roses and the jasmine

 are so pretty together

last year I bought a few baby white roses and

after having them in the house for a month or two

we planted them in the front yard 

They transferred well from inside the house to outside

The jasmine smells heavenly
Handsome husband even commented
 he liked it !!!

January Mantel

Hi Everyone

 Happy Wednesday

January is always such a peaceful month 

after all the hustle bustle and craziness of the last few months of the year

filled with parties and family entertaining

it feels like the house sighs with delight at the peace and quiet

{Love}

to really look at our home in January 

to re-access 

even move things around from room to room

Do you do this too

Change is part of our lives 

it feels good to mix things up

 start fresh and try something new 

The best part about change is we can

 look with a new eye and a sense of wonder

it can inspire us just like nature 

Our mantel  this beautiful sunny morning
in January with a favorite vase

 filled with flowers from our garden 

 and simply surrounded by curly flowing branches

Pink and Rust

Hi Everyone

This amazing white vintage rusty

 cast iron plant stand
 is from Texas

Our beautiful daughter bought it for me
and because it is very very heavy

it stayed in Texas
until our daughter graduated from College and we drove back to California 

 We were really lucky to be able to fit it in the car

The pretty vintage cast iron stand
 was placed outside our home by the front door

 until we could figure out where to put it in the house

The white stand has three cast iron hooks
that are adjustable and
stick out on three sides

The combination of rust and white cast iron
 is a potent one for me

Today while  outside pruning the rose bushes
there were two pink roses to cut
 one was a new bloom and one was a mature bloom both so beautiful
for some reason they ended up on the cast iron plant stand

 As you can see the vintage plant stand never made it
 inside the house

It now has a little bit more rust

 and a little bit more charm

The best part is every time we walk
 by the front door we can all see her thoughtful gift
{she has her own condo now and a great job too}

It always brings a smile to my face

Pink Halloween Decor

Hi Everyone

 Happy Friday

This morning the garden was abloom with pink

there were pink roses, 

a pink hydrangea

And the first 

pink camellia  of the season
decided to make an appearance too
Wish you could smell the roses they are amazingly fragrant

So our little cottage is going

Shabby chic Pink

for Halloween this year

 The freshly cut flowers looked so pretty 

sitting in a vintage cutting basket
{a gift from a friend}

The one and only tiny white pumpkin 

that was sitting on the mantel in our dining room

got nestled in next to the pink flowers

My sweet friend told me yesterday that she had added to this quote .....

They have already stood the test of time 

they were made to last forever!!!!

This kind and talented friend is helping me today

 we are having fun taking pictures of the

 new vintage treasures

 for the shop somehow

we keep getting side tracked though

taking pictures of these pretty blush pink roses

Friends are the flowers in the garden of life

 Grateful for such a great friend  

who always makes me laugh and totally gets me.....

Photo Shoot

Hi Everyone 

Happy Tuesday

 Mondays are always such busy days

 maybe its because Sunday is so peaceful and when Mondays come we hit the ground running again

This Monday was no different a crazy day filled with
 a  photo shoot 

It seemed as if the entire house was turned  inside out and into a party of pretty!

  A feast for the eyes

 everywhere you looked there were.....

 Vintage treasures  sitting on

 counter tops, floors, tables, ladders,buckets

everything was out to play with

Flowers everywhere as far as the eye could see

So fun to have so many people at the house moving things around 

why is it days like this always seem to go by way too fast

I was able to take a few shots with my camera too

Learned so much about lighting and  f stop  camera settings and
wide angle lenses

{do I sound like a pro}

I am grateful to be able to share some of the pretty of the day with all of you

I would never have thought to mix gorgeous pink blush roses with 

eucalyptus leaves
