Spring in the garden

 Hi Everyone
 Happy Monday
This morning I brought my camera
 as we took a walk
in the garden to look for signs of Spring
This vintage bench took a beating over the winter
we lost a few large trees
and the bench was in the pathway

It has such a fabulous vintage patina
we have decided to fix it and
of coarse the big decision will be whether we should repaint it or not

What do you think....

We planted sugar snap peas
They were started from seed and transferring them
outside is always a little tense
they can decide they are not happy going from the
warmth of the greenhouse to the cold
they are doing great just look at their vibrant green leaves

Grateful

A peek at the inside of the greenhouse
Over the weekend
Handsome Husband found a duck decoy
we are hoping it will help keep the birds away from the baby peas

The big tree in the front yard still does not have any leaves
but there are a few plants
that know Spring is almost here

Just take a look at this gorgeous rose

It was peeking out from the side of the greenhouse

Beautiful

Our kitty Latte is our garden supervisor
she is so helpful
Thanks for joining in our garden walk this morning

So excited for Spring

romantic saying for today

“There isn't a time or place for true love.
It  just happens in a heartbeat, in a
single moment.

  1. Such a personal decision - I already have my hubby repainting my outdoor pieces - that is he has started by doing the 1st one - which will be white exterior paint.

  2. Your kitty is just beautiful...and so are your garden spaces. I love that old bench. MyHero would make me scrape it and repaint it so it could be sat on without paint flakes coming off on his clothes. I love it even as it is though- Blessings- xo Diana

  3. Either way it will look wonderful. I love it chippy and worn for your garden and if you paint it that will just make it prettier so it is a win win whatever you do. I do love it.

  4. Oh you are much more ahead in warm weather than we are.

Love your garden and can't wait to see more!

I ♥ your old beat up garden bench....but I would paint it....if you leave outdoors it will be weathered again in no time but won't ROT or get wood-eating infestation if it is cared for.....and should give you years of happiness. That's just my thinking. Wood decays quickly when exposed TOO much! Even if you gave it a whitewash to still keep it vintage looking and then a clear coat it would last longer and still keep that same patina.

  5. It was lovely to take a walk in your pretty garden, Pam. I think the old bench should be fixed up and painted so you can enjoy it for many more years. I love the creamy white rose. Happy spring to you! Blessings, Pamela

  6. Oh, I loved taking the garden tour with you. I think the patina on the bench is perfect, I would leave it as is. Maybe schlack (sp??) it so it doesn't lose all of the shabby, white paint. Your garden is so much further ahead of mine so it is so fun to see. The rose looks beautiful. I love the pale turquoise/green chair and Latte looks like she is thoroughly enjoying herself taking a stroll with you. Happy spring!!

  7. LOL I love your Audrey Hepburn quote! It's certainly inspiring me today.
I know you are so happy about gardening and spring. LOVE sugar snap peas. Looking forward to your garden updates this spring!

  8. Love your bench! I don't know if it should be painted, though the folks who say it will last longer if so have a compelling point. I do see it covered with large, fluffy, floppy ruffled pillows made from faded vintage rose pattern linen mixed in (of course!!) with WHITE linen pillows!!!
Lovely to see your garden, too, it's such a thrill to see all the green for someone who lives still in winters grip here in the midwest (snowing this morning), though as someone who never had real winter till I moved here, I must say I love it. Anyway, can't wait for spring and more inspiration from your lovely garden!!

  9. Great shots, I love that old bench. I am waiting for spring to take its place but it snowed again last night.

  10. Just look at that gorgeous rose bloom. We won't have rose blooms until May.

We were having a discussion about painting our bench, too.
