Most of the dishware we use

like this little silver teapot
and the set of silver coasters
Grandmothers plates that I adore
{Love}
the pattern , the gold rim and all of the tiny flowers
This is one of the serving plates

Hi Pam,
ReplyDeleteSorry to see favorite places on Cedros changing yesterday...sign (sigh) of the times...
I believe that the last plate on your post here is a trivet plate used for a teapot or other hot vessel. I have one painted by my great grandmother.
Aren't family treasures among the things that make your heart sing?
Happy, healthy holidays to you and your family!
Chris
Very nice things, and Chris is right the last photo is a trivet... used for hot things... It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Day~
YAY one step closer to christmas!!! pretty pictures
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, all lovely pieces! I think that is a cake plate or stand. Something close to a display piece for sweets or maybe even cheese? That is my guess.
ReplyDeleteYour last plate looks like a tea tile to set a hot teapot on. It appears to me to be German lustre. Does it have any marks on it? All your dishes are lovely! Sally
ReplyDeleteHello, Pam! I am enjoying all of your posts I have missed lately. I love this one. Your family heirlooms are stunning. Did you ever find out about the plate's purpose?
ReplyDeleteSo neat that your dishware has been passed down the family, that makes it all the more special!
ReplyDeleteTracey
The silver coasters are the bomb! They are very unusual! I have never seen anything like them before.
ReplyDeleteI think that the last plate may have beena cake plate. It and all of your dishes and serving pieces are beautiful! I love old pieces that have been passed down, especially ones that I remember seeing the relative I received them from use. Anything connected to my grandma, aunt and mother are so special to me! They're gone, but their special pieces are here to add beauty to my every day. Thank you for sharing! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteThe silver is my all-time favorite.....I use it for any and all occasions. Looks like your Thanksgiving celebration is going to be very beautiful and very special.

Love the plate with the blue around the edges. Just lovely! Thanks for sharing. Hope your evening is grand! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteYour dishes are lovely. The ladies are correct, the last photo is for placing a hot teapot to protect the table surface. They are known as tea "tile", "trivet" or "stand".
