Blessed to be a Mom

Hi Everyone
 Happy Monday
♥
It is such a blessing and so much
 FUN to be a Mom
{Love}
everything about it
and very grateful everyday
for such a wonderful handsome husband
 and amazing children

This card says it all
it goes like this
little one yells
{while you are in the bathroom}
 knocking on the door
Mom...
Mommy.....
MOM.....
Mama......
M.O.M.
mooommmmiiieeeee.......
you answer
trying to have the calmest voice possible
 while you are thinking
the house is on fire or someone is running with scissors
or cutting the curtains or even worse cutting someones hair

yes sweetheart
and you hear

I Love you
{sigh}

you answer
I Love you.... more

This always makes me smile
because it is so true
Has this happened to you too?

Thrilled we made it back home from Kauai for
 Mothers day
best gift ever is being all together
with the ones that you Love

Life is filled with magic moments
I hope you all had a blessed  Mother's day filled with moments
that will be etched in your heart forever

White Ironstone

Hi Everyone
 Happy Friday

Recently I have received several questions
 about vintage white ironstone
there are many misconceptions and untruths about
 White Ironstone

Did you know that white ironstone
is not made of porcelain
it is actually a glazed earthenware clay

The glaze is what gives the white ironstone
its beautiful lustre and shine and helps to identify it
as white ironstone

Did you know that cleaning white ironstone is really simple
just use a mild dish soap and warm water
 Please Do Not
use a bleach or a product that contains bleach
 this will remove the glaze
Please do not put it in your dishwasher
the water gets too hot and will also stripe the glaze
For tough stains you can use a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide and water
 let it soak overnight
this is useful if you leave flowers in a vase too long
in addition you can use toothpaste to scrub tough stains

This is a brand new pitcher from Williams and Sonoma
can you see the difference in color
there is a subtle yellow tint
 This is not white ironstone

Another misconception is that all white ironstone
has a hallmark on the bottom

The truth is the hallmark can slowly be removed
especially if you wash the ironstone with bleach
and unfortunately there are fake reproductions
with the hallmark coming out of china now

Crazing is actually small tiny cracks in the white ironstone
some do not like crazing some do
 I personally
{love}
 all white ironstone

From chamber pots to pitchers, tureens,
and plates and so much more
White Ironstone
 is  an affordable and timeless
treasure to collect

The best part about
 White Ironstone
besides its elegant beauty is
 White Ironstone really does go
with every decor and if you take good care of your
 white ironstone
you can pass it down from generation to generation

White Ironstone

Hi Everyone
 Happy Friday
Vintage White ironstone
 casserole dishes
 have the most beautiful lids
this little lid has amazing detail
{Love}
the leafy handle and the pretty design around the edges
it has a curved dome shape
that makes it sit up high

The larger lid has a
delicate rosebud design
and the handle is large and easy to handle

Do you see their shiny luster

 and creamy  vintage patina

This Sunday is the Groves Antique Market

Care of Vintage White Ironstone

Hi Everyone
 Happy Wednesday
Do you know how to keep your
  vintage white ironstone
from turning yellow or losing its lustre

 The magic ingredient that
not only cleans and sanitizes your
 vintage white ironstone
it also will keep it creamy white
without stripping it of its natural lustre and shine
is
 good old 3% hydrogen peroxide
yes
 you know the one
 in the brown bottle
costs about one dollar you can even buy it at the grocery store

Warning
Please please please do not use bleach on your
 vintage white ironstone
I know many people say it works to remove stains but
bleach actually
EATS
the ironstone
and it will remove the beautiful lustre
forever
Once the lustre is gone
you can't get it back

You can also use white toothpaste to scrub your
vintage white ironstone
if you have tough stains

Simple solutions to insure your
 vintage white ironstone
 stays beautiful and will
last forever

Round Top

Hi Everyone
 Happy Tuesday
Back home and so grateful for a
fun filled trip
so much to share with you all
~ROUND TOP~
 was massive
so many people
so many fabulous treasures
Everything does seem bigger in
Texas

The luster on this vintage
 white ironstone pitcher
 caught my eye and
was one of the first vintage treasures
 that found a new home
and just look at this
 extra large crystal knife rest
the light catches on each facet
it almost  looks like it is glowing

This beautiful knife rest
would have been used to rest large cutting knives on a table
It is always such a treat to find a vintage treasure
that is unusual and beautiful and something
we can actually use in our home

What I miss when I travel
 is being able to just
 go outside  into our garden.....

With my
rose clippers
and

 Cut a few pretty roses
bringing them inside and
filling the entire home with their amazing fragrance

The garden is bursting
 with
beautiful  rose blossoms right now

Vintage white ironstone is the perfect container
 for fresh cut roses
So many fabulous vintage treasures to unpack and even more pictures to share with you
