Hi Everyone
Happy Monday
Last night our lights went out
♥
We decided to turn them off and enjoy candlelight
We do this often it is so peaceful and inviting to eat dinner by candlelight
No power means no TV,no Computers
we even turn off all of our cell phones
Our Family
{Loves}
this so much that it has almost
become a Sunday tradition
♥
we will all miss her
This is the last night the family will be all together for awhile
our daughter goes back to college in Texas tonight
{sigh} we will all miss her
With candlelight comes the dance of shadows and intimacy
we talk more and without all of the distractions we
giggle more, we all slow down even
tasting food in a more meaningful way
Everything looks more beautiful by candlelight too
Everything looks more beautiful by candlelight too
Candlelight is so romantic
you don't have to wait for a special occasion to eat dinner by candlelight
although candlelight can make even
romantic saying for today
"You are my happily ever after"

Some of our best family memories have been during storms when the lights went out!

I love candles! I have them everywhere. It always makes me think of simpler times when life revolved around home and family. Enjoy your peace!

Memories shared.... :) What a sweet way to spend quality time with your family, Pam. Kudos to you, girlie! Oh, and I definitely need to get my little candleholder out. I have one just like yours!

Love the idea of turning off all the electronics, including the lights, one night a week.

How fun to have the lights go out and have the candles flickering. How wonderful to be able to spend it with your family and how bittersweet that your daughter goes back to school.
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful photos, as always!

And so romantic! ;) Love your candle holder; it transports me to 'another' era. Very nostalgic too. Thanks for participating in SHOW OFF YOUR COTTAGE MONDAY and bringing me here~

What a grand idea. I love it. It's supposed to REALLY snow here tomorrow. I so hope we don't lose power... we have NO other source of heat, so we'd be freezing to death...

Aw...I know you will miss her! But she had a long break, didn't she! Mine went back last Tuesday. *sadface*
ReplyDeleteSlowing down and going off the grid if only for a day can really make us appreciate our surroundings more. Sounds like Sundays are truly special at your house.
ReplyDeleteWent to follow you and then saw my little profile already there:)lol

In winter, I burn 4 or 5 tealights everynight. I really like candlelight ( it is the only thing I like about winter, don' t like cold)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family tradition. I'm inspired to try it, too.

Absolute beautiful tradition. Then vintage candleholder is to drool for.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
