Hi Everyone
Happy Thursday
♥
I am a romantic at heart
{Love}
One of my favorite guidelines for decorating a home
is to remember to use the KISS test
~Keep It Simple Style~
the KISS test works because it
helps you simplify
here is a great trick to see if a room
can pass the KISS test
When you first walk into a room
look to see what your eye first lands on
Pretty sure if you do this with the picture above you would say the
vintage gas station sign that says
REGULAR
The sign is pretty hard to miss
this vintage treasure is amazing
It came from an old gas station in Texas
We found it on our trip to the Midwest a few weeks ago
I immediately thought of
putting it somewhere in the kitchen
it does look fun
But keeping a good balance is what we are trying to achieve
you do not want too many focal points
you do not want too many focal points
So for me this sign is bit too bold for the space
What do you think
Does this vintage sign pass the KISS test in your eyes

LOVELOVELOVE the sign! passes the kiss test for me!
ReplyDeleteI like the sign but it's hard to tell about the placement from the photos... what do you have over the slider door just to the right? would it look good right there, over the door?
ReplyDeleteThat will start a conversation every time - very fun!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the sign, but it is too bold in that it is drawing attention to the soffit, at least from the angle at which one took that photo; yet, it's possible that it looks entirely different from another spot in the room.
ReplyDeleteBesides, it says "regular" and the space is extraordinary!
Hi Pam! I don't care for the sign, not because it refers to REGULAR GAS, but it implies "regular" food. I would prefer the word "fabulous" if I were going to put up a sign. That's just me. But I absolutely LOVE the kitchen! If the sign is already fixed and you don't have any other place, just leave it! It is really a neat sign!
ReplyDeleteGreat find but as commentor above remarked it implies less than perfect which your home sure isn't. Every pic I've ever seen of your home looks so serene and comfy, welcoming. What more can any hostess ask? Happy week
ReplyDeleteI love signs and I love this one but it may be a bit bold for the spot. I am going to remember your KISS motto! :)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I love that sign!!!! I think its just that dark splash with all the light! :D
ReplyDeleteHugs,
I think you answered your own question.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! LOVE all vintage signs and your kitchen is fabulous! Blessings ~ Judy
ReplyDeleteIt definitely drew my attention and piqued my interest. I guess that gets a KISS.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely drew my attention. Love your kitchen - this adds an ecclectic element that is definitely a conversation starter - I love the KISS principle too! I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,

Love the idea of the "KISS" test! you have such a gorgeous kitchen, love the sign too!!
ReplyDeleteThe sign is awesome. My eye first went to the neat mirror behind your stove. It makes everything look fresh and big. KISS is smart to remember. :)
