Hi Everyone
Happy Friday
♥
Can you feel it ...
Christmas joy
If you haven't already made your Christmas advent calender yet
its not too late.......
Did you know that advent means arrival !!!
Our advent calender this year has four candles to celebrate
the four Sundays before
Christmas
This is a Swedish tradition
and is
simple to make just place sugar in a bowl
{vintage white ironstone looks pretty}
add four candles and every Sunday gather the family
and light a candle
{ we always say what we are grateful for when we light the candles each week}

No, in Texas it us hard to get Christmas spirit with 83 degree weather. We are hot and dry. Not normal.
ReplyDeleteI always cherished lighting the Advent candles with my children, and am doing it again with my grandbabies. By the way, thank you for teaching me a new way to spell CHRISTmas - I've started doing it in all my correspondence and my friends have all commented on how much they love it!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I adore that little invitation, so sweet but simple. We had lots of joy today, went caroling at a nursing home here in KC.

ReplyDeleteHello, I'm over from FRENCH COUNTRY COTTAGE link party and I find this interesting. Last night my Swedish friend was assisting me with tech pc issues via remote assistance and he asked me if I celebrated Advent and I didn't know what it was. He briefly told me, you light a candle for each Sunday before Xmas, and usually is accompanied by drinking glogg and eating gingerbread. I told him I would do this Sunday, today, in his honor for his help but didn't have a good visual, his description was too brief. But this is helpful and beautiful! I will also try to make some glogg too, I had it once in my life and never forgot it. Thanks for this. lady
