Hi Everyone
Happy Friday
♥
♥
These flowers will be planted in the garden
this weekend
But in the mean time they
look right at home in the dining room resting in a vintage basket that is always
waiting to be filled with flowers
One of my favorite tricks to save money is to
shop our local nursery for flowers I can later plant in the garden
and eventually cut to bring in the house
These multi colored hearty flowers called stock will grow
and spread through out the garden
♥
They were only 3.79 each
{a bargain}
at the nursery
much less than a bouquet would cost and
once planted will multiply and spread
Stock is a very hardy flower to grow and it has a heavenly fragrance too
Last year we planted several different flowers
and the stock was so plentiful we ended up selling
bouquets on the corner in cans for a dollar
They were very popular !!!
All the neighbors keep asking us if we are planting them again this year
We have our fingers crossed it will not rain ALL weekend here
so we can start playing
{planting}
in the garden

Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen those flowers before - or perhaps we cann them something different here.
I am so excited you may be able to work in your garden, we have a bit of a wait here still. (Ohio.)
Have a great weekend!
So pretty right where they are but planting will be fun for sure
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome. I wonder where I could find those? Our stores and nurseries are finally getting stuff in.
ReplyDeleteThese flowers are gorgeous! Have a wonderful weekend, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen stock in years, Pam! Love 'em! They look great in your basket. I would plant some in a pot to put on our outddoor table near the door, but I know the bees will love it and my hubby will hate it! So I may just look for some to plant around our condo. I will probably go with some kind of pretty foliage plant for the table/door area.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing bits of green coming up, but since we weren't here last Spring, I'm wondering what it all is. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up before I go buy anything!
These flowers are so pretty and it's a good idea to buy them for later planting in the garden. Love the idea.
ReplyDeleteThe vingette is so pretty and springy.

I have never heard of these flowers but they are certainly very pretty! I love to cut flowers and bring them in my home! I just cut daffodils yesterday and combined them with a store bought bouquet.~Patti
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Pam! I love doing the same thing.

I just love your stock flowers! I hope I can plant them here in CO this year but I usually only see them as cut flowers. I will be looking for them for sure. I love how they smell. Your photos look gorgeous!

What a beautiful bouquet ... I've never heard of stock flowers before, but they sound like a dream for the garden. I can only imagine how excited your neighbors were when you shared them.
