Coronado Garage sale

 Happy Friday

It has been a busy

 fun filled power packed summer already

so much to share with all of you 

As you can see there have been a few changes here at 

White Ironstone Cottage

You will not believe where we found this amazing vintage 

zinc top table

that now sits in our dining room

We were recently invited to a preview dinner at the new

 Bluewater Boathouse in Coronado

 the restaurant is right across the street from the famous

 Hotel Del Coronado

it is a beautiful red roof building that sits right on the water

 and used to be the old Chart house restaurant years ago

Handsome husband worked at that Chart house for many years

{we had our first kiss on the top of the look out tower}

The  new owners of the Bluewater Boathouse did an extensive and beautiful remodel

 and decided to have a garage sale to let go of some of the old furniture 

There were chart house map tables for sale as well as wood captains chairs for 10 dollars

 white restaurant dishware a dollar each piece

so many amazing treasures and bargains

Here is Jimmy one of the new owners 

with a vintage lavabo

{great for plants}

but...

 my eye kept going to this white zinc top table 

Grateful the table fit here in our dining room 

{Love}

the way the zinc top enhances the gray paint on the walls

You never know what you 

will find at a garage sale

this beautiful treasure we all cherish

 it is filled with wonderful memories old and new

Summer living

Summer at our house means

 everyone is HOME and we are all together

it also means a packed house full of family, friends
  and lots of kids

So when these Newtons Fruit Thins arrived at our front door 

everyone was anxious to

 means making smart choices when it comes to food
 especially
 desserts and snacks
 These Newtons Fruit Thins are a
 perfect healthy treat
The banana fruit thin tastes delicious with real bits of banana and drizzled with dark
fudge on top
A delightfully deacadent combination of flavors all packed in a crunchy crisp cookie

 the Fruit Thins Coconut Drizzled with Dark Fudge 

 reminded  us of our summer vacations in Kauai 
and our visit to the farmers market one Saturday

 

This is where we tasted fresh coconut for the very first time.
We all still remember the 65 year old women who used a large machete
to chop open a fresh coconut for us all to enjoy.
The Fruit Thins Coconut Drizzled with Dark Fudge was
Handsome Husband's favorite because of the real bits of chewy coconut
He
{ Loves }
coconut and even puts it on his oatmeal every morning

Now we  are off for a picnic at the beach to watch another beautiful sunset
our

will be a delicious ending to a beautiful summer day

Summer Fun

Hi Everyone

 Happy Tuesday

Summer is here 

and last night we had our first summer BBQ  of the season

{Love}

to dine Al Fresco on the back patio 

  this year in the garden we have 

another bumper crop of apricots, plums

and apples

as well as sugar snap peas , tomatoes and artichokes

Yellow cucumber buds

 are  blooming

Apples on the tree

The freshly painted white adirondack chairs

 are ready for some summer fun and relaxation

Here in Southern California the weather can be funny in June

 because we live close to the beach we get what is called June gloom

it is a coastal fog that can keep the weather cool especially in the mornings

the fog can burn off 

sometimes

and  it gets very warm in the afternoons

it is perfect weather for the plants

We put the flags in the basket 

 for Memorial day 

and now we are also ready for flag day and
 the 4th of July!!!
