How to Create a Romantic Garden

Hi Everyone
 Happy Wednesday
Creating a romantic garden
 for your home
Begins with choosing the right plants
There are many amazing varieties to choose from I made a list of my favorites
that will help you set the stage for romance by
 adding amazing beauty and
 fragrance to your yard

One of my favorite plants to add to the garden is
 ~paper white bulbs~
they have such an intoxicating fragrance
and every year you will be happy to see the bulbs bloom again
 {Love}

~Lavender~
 is another plant
that blesses us all with its amazing fragrance
The gray colored leaves are also beautiful year round

This is a fabulous plant called
 ~Breath of Heaven~
love the way this sways in the breeze
and its luscious fragrance
is soft and sweet

~Tulips~
 are a wonderful border
 plant in our garden
{Love}
to walk by and say tulips so romantic!!!!

Of coarse a romantic garden would not be complete
 with out beautiful
~Cabbage roses~
the quintessential flower of romance

 and last but not least
colorful
~ hydrangeas~
that look almost majestic in the garden

 Freshly cut hydrangeas
add romance and beauty
everywhere

that grows in your garden

  1. Loved your post today, Pam! Seeing all of those beautiful flowers makes me anxious for next month when - hopefully - we'll have some blooming in our gardens. :) 'Walker's Low' Catmint is another beautiful romantic flower for those who have trouble growing lavender. I've tried lavender and it just doesn't do well here in MI. Catmint is a great substitute. It smells clean and minty and blooms with little lavender blooms allllll summer well into autumn.

  3. All those beautiful flowers. I have a few of them in my garden.. roses, hydrangeas, lilies.... Tried lavender, but it's just too wet and humid here in Florida, I have no luck. *sad face*

  4. Anything fragrant: Lilies, Magnolia, Brugmansia, Wisteria, Jasmine, Dianthus, Philadelphus. Not fragrant, but Camellias are definitely romantic and bloom in cooler weather.

  5. I love your choices, they are all so beautiful. We have such a dry hot summer that a lot of things will not grow for me. Or I don't plant them in the right places. I guess you can tell that I am a hit and miss gardener. My neighbor had these beautiful ferns in her yard and she graciously gave me starters, "three times". The first two times they died on me, then the last time I planted mine on the north-east corner of the house, that is where her's were planted, and what do you know that was about five years ago and now I have starters to share:)
There is so much to know about gardening, the right soil, the right fertilizer, the right amount of water, the right amount of sunshine, the location of panting . . . I truly admire people that have a green thumb, especially in a dry area like ours. It is most certainly a science :)
    Have a lovely day.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)
P.S. My pet peeve with gardening is these big stores that stock plants in their garden centers that do not do well in the area where the store is located. Maybe they ship the same items to every store, I don't know. But it is a shame to see some beautiful plant just to have it die. I bought several foxglove one year, only to have them die. Then we made a trip to the Oregon coast and they grow wild in the forest. Big difference, their rainy coast line and our dry desert. Why do stores do that, and how can we as consumers get them to stop?

  13. Snapdragons which are perennials here. One of my favorite perennials is also salvia (the purples and blues). Mine bloom about six months of the year and that is getting your money out of flowers.
