Vintage Blue and a remodel

Hi Everyone
 Happy Thursday
This little blue chippy shabby vintage basket
was found at a fabulous store in
Coronado called
You have heard me mention this store before
I have been making weekly trips to Coronado
to supervise updates for a beach house remodel
it has been fun to rediscover this fun little shop filled with
 so many adorable vintage treasures

It is rare to find these type of vintage baskets
completely in tact
the handle and the sides are all there and not one piece is broken
{Love}
the size perfect for flower arrangements made with
freshly picked flowers from the garden

The original tin insert is a bonus
 and it actually holds water
so the flowers will have plenty to drink

{warning the next few pictures are ugly}

The beach house is in demo mode
or what we affectionately refer to as the
ugly
not so fun
before stage

The house is taking shape and looking open
and filled with  much needed light
as you can see the kitchen was completely gutted
new windows have just been installed
and the wall separating the dining room from the kitchen has been removed
there was a tiny door that led to the kitchen that made
the space look even smaller and very dark
The new designed  kitchen will have a white bead-board ceiling
the wolf range/stove will be on the left
and the french farmhouse sink will be on the right
 just below the window
to the left of the sink will be a subzero glass front refrigerator

The Subzero  refrigerator
 looks like this one

Adding windows to this bedroom has
helped to make it feel bigger
The large original cabinets are staying and the new window
will now have a window seat
that looks out to the pool
removing the vanity table and mirror and adding a window
helped add light to the room

Here is the front door can you see the ceiling
it has been raised to bring in height and more light
The stairway to the upstairs bedroom
has been opened up
so you are not walking upstairs in what felt like a dark tunnel

Pretty view of Coronado yacht club from the new balcony upstairs
   just off the master bedroom
{sorry these pics are bad took them with my iPhone}

That's the remodel update for this week
check back often
the kitchen cabinets and drywall get installed in a few days
as well as the bead board
So excited to have the opportunity to help design and transform this home
and to share with you the transformation

  3. It is coming along just beautifully, Pam. It is going to be so nice when it is done. Your blue basket is lovely- I found one very similar while cleaning out the house I am working on in green-tin insert included. My friend tells me they were basically used for funeral baskets. xo Diana

  6. I love Coronado Island. When I arrived in San Diego for college, the bridge did not exist so we took the ferry over to visit friends.
