Hi Everyone
Happy Saturday

The kitchen island
it turned out better than expected
it turned out better than expected
It was a difficult decision to paint over such beautiful wood
Here is a picture of the island when I first bought it
it was a steal at $50 dollars
I always liked its size and the detail
I sanded the wood with a light grade sand paper
than painted a light coat of "Kilz"
then started painting
I used Behr
Ultra Pure White semi gloss enamel paint
The details really pop with the white paint
even Family agrees it looks great
Yippee
This looks and feels like home
♥
Here it is at the sale
so happy I changed my mind
Now that I have the paint out
I am in the mood to paint the floors in the dining room
fingers crossed it turns out as good

Good Afternoon Pam :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks really nice with the painted white bottom! Very complimentry to the rest of your pretty kitchen! I like the good size - both wide & long; great for a big center display! I just got done planting a white peony shrub & am resting now.. phew! :)
Hugs,
Lara
I love your white kitchen!! I have always wanted one. The island turned out great. All my wood in the kitchen is stained a med. tone. I would love to do something with the Island. I think it would be a pretty contrast. Looking forward to seeing how the floors turn out! Janet
ReplyDeletePam it really looks fabulous! Sometimes second guessing is a good thing!!!

This table is absolutely gorgeous. It was pretty in design before but for some reason with paint, it's like the personality came out. Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteNow I want to know what is UNDER the island. Looks like a galvanized trash bin. Cool! What is it?
ReplyDeletePam, I love your kitchen. THe island turned out so pretty! *awesome*
ReplyDeleteI love how this tirned out and think it compliments your kitchen cabinets better. The wood top is a nice addition also:-) I have so many painting projects, but the weather will never cooperate with my schedule....can't wait til summer gets here.

Your island looks fabulous! Such a pretty piece. It looks great in your kitchen. I love the wood on top and white on the bottom!
ReplyDeleteIt looks GREAT! Not sure I would have had the nerve to paint over the wood (husband would have thrown himself in front of the wood had I come at it with a paintbrush!), but I love it the way you "did it up". SO nice.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Judy

Wow! It looks perfect. Can I keep one picture of your kitchen for my "kitchen inspiration file"? Yours is truly an inspiration as it's both beautiful and not too huge, even if it's still bigger than mine!

ReplyDeleteGreat transformation- it matches the rest of the kitchen so beautifully! I wish my kitchen were large enough for an island.. I'd kill for the extra work/display space!
