Hi Everyone
Happy Friday
{Love}
this sterling silver monogrammed cup that says
Spring Formal
"53"
Our daughter is going to her Sorority Spring Formal tonight
I miss her and I miss the days when she and all of her friends
were here at the house getting ready and taking pictures together
It was so much fun
Thinking of her spring formal made me think of this little cup
♥
Look at the details
{Love}
the lions and the little silver rings
Can you imagine receiving this at a spring formal
When I found this silver cup I started to imagine who it belonged
to and the romantic story
that went with it
It sure was a sweet souvenir
I added a few pink roses from the garden it almost looks like a corsage
sitting in it
Enjoy the weekend

Awesome! I would sell my mother-in-laws farm for that (just teasing--I love her)--but, 1953?? Pretty darn vintage (I was born that year and darn vintage-proud of it)--Gorgeous piece. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Pam. I enjoyed your post. Yes, it is a curious day dream as to who, what, when and where that silver treasure came about. The pinks are perfect with it. Enjoyed reading your profile too. Happy Pinks, Jenn

I know hat you mean Pam. Tonight is prom night at our high school and I've been thinking about when our daughter was still at home and going to prom, all the fun of getting ready and all the anticipation. Time moves to fast.

ReplyDeleteOld trophies and old loving cups like this are on the top of my must find list!
I want to add them to my collection of trophies that were my grandfather's and dad's!
I love it. I am always on the lookout for vintage monogrammed silver.

Pam, what a sweet treasure! How lucky to find this piece of engraved silver. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeletePam, that sweet Silver cup filled with lovely flowers is just beautiful... I can't even imagine someone getting rid of something like that and I'm so glad it has found an appreciate Home with you! I like to imagine the stories that go with or behind my Found Treasures too... I have a very fertile imagination so my version probably tops the real back end story. *winks*

ReplyDeleteOMGoodness!!! I looove, love, love this silver cup...and I'm thinking it could be
ReplyDeleteNaval Air Station...(but that's Whidbey Island, not Seattle)
When the guys dress up in their formal uniform and their ladies are in formal attire too...Swoon, I think you are sooo lucky to have found this beautiful keepsake! Beautiful photo! Thanks for sharing this with us. Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
Beautiful silver cup! Especially with the pink roses. The cup is from the Sand Point Naval Air Station in Seattle, which served from 1920-1970. Oh, I can imagine all the pretty dressed that must have been worn that night in '53...
