May Day Tradition

Hi Everyone
Happy Monday

 this Sunday is
~May Day~
These vintage pictures show old May Day celebrations
In our home we have our own  May Day tradition
We hang garden flowers on our front door
and
I  make small hanging jars of  garden flowers
and secretly  put them on my friends front doors

Here is our door knocker
on our front door

Here is the little hanging
jar of
garden flowers

I was told that hanging flowers on your front door on
May Day
brings happiness and good luck to a home
{Love}
any excuse to put flowers on the front door
and it is so fun to surprise my  friends on May day too

  5. I think this is a sweet tradition. I once lived in a neighborhood where a lady placed May Day flowers on everyone's front door. The arrangements were in tin cans with bright green ribbons! :D

  6. what a sweet idea! some friends of Gabi's ( the little girl that has cancer on my blog) came by her house while she was in the hospital and decorated the trees, yard and front door and left Easter baskets for Gabi and her sisters. Your post reminded me of that:) Happy Monday.

  7. This tradition I had not heard of ... we always made little handcreated paper baskets & filled with flowers, then knocked on the doors & ran away to watch the oooh's & ahhh's when they found them.

    Love this idea ...

    Have a beautiful week ~

  15. I love this tradition
    and would be so surprised
to have one of these pretties
    waiting on my door! When
    my kids were little, they
used to love sneaking a basket
    onto the neighbor's door : )
    Thanks for the reminder!
