Romantic Vintage style

Hi Everyone
Happy Thursday
Do you
{Love}
 the style of your home
Recently I was asked
what the style of our home is...
The first thing that popped into my head was
" romantic vintage"

Style is personal
 that is what makes
{at least for me}
looking at other peoples homes so much fun

Do you feel the same way

{Love}
 to see where someone places flowers
in their home
 and what they use for the vase
What furniture they like and even the color of the walls

You all know that most of the flowers in our home
 are placed in......

a Vintage White Ironstone pitcher

Even in this peaceful corner of our bedroom
on a pretty vintage white wicker table

Vintage DIY Project

Hi Everyone
 Happy Monday
Do you {Love} to drink tea
Our entire family enjoys a cup of tea
 especially on cold nights
We all have our favorite blends
Recently after dinner I noticed almost 12 different tea boxes
out on the counter

 Instead of hunting for all the different teas in the pantry
 I decided to try and make a tea holder we could just take out
filled with every ones favorite blend

I didn't want to go and buy something
I wanted to make it
 using something that we already had around the house
 I went on the hunt and found this neglected vintage sewing machine drawer
in the garage
 {Love}
 the beautiful detailing and with a quick coat of white paint
it looked pretty good

I also added 4 vintage glass knobs found in the junk drawer of the kitchen
{how did they get in there}
onto the bottom as little feet

Our new vintage DIY Tea organizer
No more searching in the pantry
organized and pretty on the top of the counter too
I think I may have to find a few more vintage sewing machine drawers
they would look so cute all lined up in the pantry

What would you fill the drawer with in your pantry

Shabby chic Mantel

Hi Everyone
 Happy Friday
Do you like to save pretty ribbon from packages
This past Christmas we received the most beautiful
 white Rachel Ashwell  face towels
{Love}
The towels were wrapped with this
pretty shabby chic white ribbon
So happy I kept the ribbon it looks so cute  wrapped around this garden
 galvanized bucket

Today while shopping at Trader Joes
 I found these adorable baby pink potted roses for only 1.99 each
{such a bargain}
 I bought 3 and
 they fit perfectly in the bucket

I added a small sprig of pink jasmine
 from the garden

The baby pink  of the roses and the jasmine
 are so pretty together
last year I bought a few baby white roses and
after having them in the house for a month or two
we planted them in the front yard
They transferred well from inside the house to outside

*LoveLoveLove*
The jasmine smells heavenly
Handsome husband even commented
 he liked it !!!

{Love}
 the thoughtful gift and the pretty
ribbon
 just sharing a peek at our Shabbychic mantel
more to come....

Valentines Day

Hi Everyone
 Happy Tuesday
Being a born romantic I absolutely
{Love}
*Valentines Day*

When we first moved into our home
I desperately wanted to plant
 white iceberg roses everywhere
 but with over an acre and third to plant
it just wasn't in the budget so handsome husband started a wonderful tradition

Every Valentines day he buys me
 a white iceberg rose to plant in the yard
It has been so fun to add
 a new rose bush every year

We now have white iceberg roses
 in the backyard
tucked by the living room window and the side yard

 Iceberg roses around
 the backyard brick patio

Iceberg roses in
 the front yard

 Iceberg roses
by the walkway

Iceberg rose in
 the birdbath

 By the front door

 I know most women ask for
 a dozen cut red roses for Valentines day
 but not me

 {Love}
 getting the white iceberg rose bush every year
{Love}
 going out in the garden and being able to cut the white roses to bring in the house

Most of all I am grateful
{Love}
 my handsome husband who helps to make my dream
 of  beautiful white roses planted everywhere around our home
 come true all over again every Valentines day

White Ironstone

Hi Everyone
 Happy Friday

Recently I have received several questions
 about vintage white ironstone
there are many misconceptions and untruths about
 White Ironstone

  Did you know that white ironstone
is not made of porcelain
it is actually a glazed earthenware clay

The glaze is what gives the white ironstone
 its beautiful lustre and shine and helps to identify it
as white ironstone

 Did you know that cleaning white ironstone is really simple
just use a mild dish soap and warm water
 Please Do Not
 use a bleach or a product that contains bleach
 this will remove the glaze
Please do not put it in your dishwasher
 the water gets too hot and will also stripe the glaze
For tough stains you can use a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide and water
 let it soak overnight
this is useful if you leave flowers in a vase too long
in addition you can use toothpaste to scrub tough stains

This is a brand new pitcher from Williams and Sonoma
can you see the difference in color
there is a subtle yellow tint
 This is not white ironstone

Another misconception is that all white ironstone
 has a hallmark on the bottom

The truth is the hallmark can slowly be removed
especially if you wash the ironstone with bleach
and unfortunately there are fake reproductions
 with the hallmark coming out of china now

Crazing is actually small tiny cracks in the white ironstone
some do not like crazing some do
 I personally
{love}
 all white ironstone

From chamber pots to pitchers, tureens,
 and plates and so much more
White Ironstone
 is  an affordable and timeless
treasure to collect

The best part about
 White Ironstone
besides its elegant beauty is
 White Ironstone really does go
with every decor and if you take good care of your
 white ironstone
 you can pass it down from generation to generation
