Easter Memory

These beautiful hydrangeas
remind me so much of the
 miracle of God's promise 

Every January we literally chop our hydrangea bushes
 to the ground and every year I worry will they grow back.....
  They always do grow back

 more robust and beautiful then the year before
Such a testament to trusting in
 God 

At Easter I am reminded of the year

 we had our children photographed at Olan Mills

Our sweet daughter was wearing a vintage pink dress

 that I wore for Easter when I was her age

{My Mom saved everything}

and our son is of coarse pictured holding

 a Easter egg that he held like a baseball

{Love}

The picture is adorable but the story behind this picture always touches my heart

Our daughter is such a loving soul and has always been very protective of her brother 

The photographers sat them down together next to the flowers

 and then brought in the bunnies for the shot

putting the bunnies on each of their laps

  our son got a bad bunny that just did not want to be photographed 

We were all trying to help assist and console when 

Our daughter without even being asked went and grabbed an Easter egg decoration

 and handed it to her brother

She then sat down in front of the seat to protect him from the bunny 

 so the photographer could get the shot....

 the smiles on their faces tell such a story

Wish I could remember why our son is not wearing shoes!!!

{sigh}

Vintage shopping trip

Last weekend I was excited

 to once again get the opportunity to photograph the
 LuckyStreet Productions
 sale
It was a fabulous feast for the eyes
Filled to overflowing with vintage treasures 

{Love}
 this beautiful beach inspired vignette

Such a wonderful array of colors and fun
 one of a kind vintage treasures as far as the eye could see

I have a few of these red and white checkered jelly jars
they look so colorful in this display
{Love}
 using them for picnics and also for left overs in the refrigerator

 Fell head over heels in
{Love}
with this adorable row of baby shoes

 They just look so sweet sitting
 all together on
  the front porch railing

This lovely and serene loft bed looked so inviting
 especially all covered with pretty pink
 shabby chic linens

   Just look at this beautiful lounge chair with its layer upon layer
of vintage lace doilies

This vintage Lavabo from France
 would look so pretty  filled with colorful
spring flowers

the intricate detail and faded turquoise charm

Spring Daffodils

Hi Everyone

 Happy Monday

What is it about yellow that looks so warm, happy and

 full of  Spring

Yesterday these beautiful yellow daffodils
  decided to bloom
We were working on a project
and the cut daffodils accidentally got put into the middle of this vintage ball of twine
it looked so cute !!!!
 I decided to use the twine ball as a vase
all I did to keep the daffodils  alive was insert
 a little glass tube into the middle of the twine and add water

Spring Cleaning

Hi Everyone

 Happy Thursday

♥

Yesterday was the official first
 day of Spring 

and that means time to start spring cleaning

We clean one cabinet at a time in our Kitchen
{Love} 
bringing everything out  dusting everything off
even finding things we did not know we had
A great time to make sure the treasures inside are not broken
and most of all that we really
 use or

{Love}
everything we put back after cleaning
That is the fun part eliminating and making room for new treasures!!!!

Many of you have asked me about this
 vintage galvanized tub
in our kitchen

yes..... we really use it as our trash can 

It works great 

 It fits perfectly right under the vintage pine island and
is right by the sink for easy clean up

Also {Love}
 the fact that our puppy Finley cannot get into the barrel
or knock it over
so we do not have to worry
 about trash all over the kitchen

Spring in the garden

 Hi Everyone

 Happy Monday

This morning I brought my camera

 as we took a walk
 in the garden to look for signs of Spring 

This vintage bench took a beating over the winter

we lost a few large trees  

and the bench was in the pathway 

It has such a fabulous vintage patina 

 we have decided to fix it and 

 of coarse the big decision will be whether we should repaint it or not

What do you think....

We planted sugar snap peas  

They were started from seed and transferring them 

 outside is always a little tense

 they can decide they are not happy going from the
 warmth of the greenhouse to the cold 

 they are doing great just look at their vibrant green leaves

Over the weekend 

Handsome Husband found a duck decoy 

we are hoping it will help keep the birds away from the baby peas

The big tree in the front yard still does not have any leaves

 but there are a few plants

 that know Spring is almost here

Just take a look at this gorgeous rose 

It was peeking out from the side of the greenhouse

Favorite treasure

Sometimes when you find a treasure you instantly 

know where it will go and how it will look
I knew just by looking that this little vase was 

 the perfect size for a single rose

Turns out this vase is one of my most favorite treasures

best part is the vase can move from room to room 

you can even hang it on a hook or  just sit it on a shelf

When we spotted it at a flea market

 my heart skipped a beat
{great memories of being with our beautiful daughter help to make it even more special}

Best $2 dollars 

ever spent 

cost less than a cup of Starbucks coffee

Proof that it is not the amount of money spent on a treasure
 that makes it special

This Sunday is St Patricks day 

Don't forget to wear green or you might get pinched !!!

This year I grew a clover plant  

I did not know clover had such adorable little white flowers too cute

 Clover leaves are such a beautiful vibrant green color
usually you find three leaf clovers but if you find a four leaf
 clover it is a symbol of
 faith, hope, love and luck

Legend has it if you find a four leaf clover
 you will be lucky for life

If you give the one you
 {Love} 
a four leaf clover you will be bonded together for Eternity

How romantic is that
  along with green beer, green bagels
who knew St Patricks day could be so romantic!!!!!

Blooming Camellias

Hi Everyone

 Happy Tuesday

 Beautiful camellias are showing off 

in our front entry way

they are such a luscious color

 ♥

There are so many blooming that we have been making pretty

 bouquets for neighbors and friends

A few new flowers for the basket on the entry gate 

these flowers are called
Cosmos 

Cosmo flowers are very easy to grow from seed
 even inside the kitchen window!!!
Perfect for Easter

Now that we have changed our clocks for daylight savings time

 it does not get dark here

 until 7  

 we are enjoying the extra hour of light in the evening

Working in the garden and dining alfresco
holding hands and taking walks together 

Such a Blessing to watch nature waking up and coming alive again 

after such a rainy, cold windy winter we are grateful for the warmth of the sun

Today we are planting more of the seedlings that we started in the greenhouse 

home grown tomatoes....   yum

Pretty in Pink

These are such powerful words to live by 

This quote always reminds me to edit , to let go, to release 

My sweet friend told me yesterday that she had added to this quote ..... 

Things in your home should be beautiful, they should be unusual and useful

 and they should last forever

 I think this is why we all

 {Love} 

vintage treasures so much

They have already stood the test of time 

they were made to last forever!!!!

This kind and talented friend is helping me today

 we are having fun taking pictures of the

 new vintage treasures

 for the shop somehow

we keep getting side tracked though

taking pictures of these pretty blush pink roses

Friends are the flowers in the garden of life

 Grateful for such a great friend  

who always makes me laugh and totally gets me.....
