Vintage Shopping test # 18

 Hi Everyone
 Happy Monday

Are you ready to test your
 vintage shopping skills again
here are two domed butter servers
both of the butter dishes above have a silver patina

 One of these  butter servers
is real hotel silver worth $65 dollars
the other is a reproduction and sells for $16 dollars

The first butter server has a
beautiful beaded detail all the way around the plate

The second butter server is smaller
and has the most beautiful silver shine
{you can see my reflection}

As you can see both servers have a small knob
on the top of the dome

Both servers also have glass inserts to hold the
small butter pats

It is always fun to serve butter in a dome dish
it gives the table such an elegant feel

Do you think you know which domed butter dish
 is the
 real vintage treasure
and which one is the new reproduction

If you chose the dome with the filigree knob
congratulations
 you chose
 the real vintage treasure

Did you guess right

romantic saying for today

"With one look at you my heart was forever yours"
unknown

  2. I guessed correctly making my choice based on the knob. The detail on the vintage knob just isn't done today or at least not cheaply.

  5. Hee hee hee. This was fun! Thanks for the entertainment. Huge vintage fan, mostly 30s-50s (wrote a vintage novel girlinthejitterbugdress.com), but I do tea parties too. I guessed right, but it was close!

  7. These are both pretty and I did guess the less shiny one because of the beaded detail on it. What a great find especially with the glass dish intact. Have a great day!

    Fun post.
